John Ravencraft Sentenced to 13 Years for Armed Robbery
September 02, 2011

Judge Keith Spaeth sentenced John Ravencraft, 50, to 13 years in prison for the armed robbery of a shell gas station clerk in March. During the robbery, Ravencraft held a pistol to the head of the clerk, but the gun malfunctioned when he pulled the trigger, sparing the victim’s life. The brave victim then fought back, punching Ravencraft and running out of the store to call for help.

“This victim is very lucky to be alive,” stated Prosecutor Michael T. Gmoser. “My Assistant Prosecutor Dan Phillips, who worked this case with me, and I are very pleased to help put this violent criminal away. His next victim would not have been as fortunate.”
