October 01, 2007

Press Release For Immediate Release September 28, 2007

A Butler County Jury returned a guilty verdict against a 20 year old West Chester woman in 26 minutes on September 27, 2007. The Defendant, Jennifer Whitson, was found guilty of Rape and Gross Sexual Imposition with a twelve year old boy. West Chester Police Detective, Andrew Schweier, investigated the case. The Defendant is scheduled for a sexual offender classification hearing and sentencing on November 6, 2007 at 1:00pm before the Honorable Judge Noah Powers. Defendant faces a mandatory term of imprisonment. Whitson could serve 15 years in prison.

Prosecutor Piper stated, “It is unusual to have an adult female having sexual conduct with a young boy. There is no excuse for escapades with a minor and regardless of gender, she must be held accountable. Interfering with a young person’s life like this is unforgivable . . . it is unnatural and tarnishes a child’s normal progression through life. We regard cases like this very seriously and if they have to go to trial, that’s fine by us, but the truth comes out and punishment will have to follow.”
