Louis Bonilla pled guilty to the 2005 rape of a ten year old child
February 26, 2008

Press Release For Immediate Release February 26, 2008

(HAMILTON, OH) A thirty year old man from El Salvador was finally brought to justice after absconding from authorities almost two and a half years ago.

Louis Bonilla pled guilty on Monday to the 2005 rape of a ten year old Hamilton child. After posting a bond in 2005, Bonilla fled Hamilton. Det. David Collins and the Hamilton Police Department remained committed to locating Bonilla and as a result of that commitment, Bonilla was apprehended in Maryland late last year.

Having pled guilty to rape, Bonilla faces ten years in prison. If not deported upon release from prison, Bonilla will be required to register with the sheriff every ninety days for the rest of his life.

Prosecutor Piper stated, “It never ceases to amaze me that an individual would think about sex with a ten-year old. He’s earned the maximum sentence and hopefully will receive 10 years for his utterly abhorrent behavior. We applaud Detective David Collins for his perseverance in this case - he has taken a child rapist off the street.”

Bonilla will be sentenced on April 1, 2008 at 1:00 pm by Judge Noah Powers.
